# Set up structured data on your online store

Your theme already writes structured data for products, and stops there. Your collections, pages and blog articles go out with nothing, and answer engines read those too. This guide installs MetaPilot, switches on the two theme app embeds it needs, and shows you how to confirm the structured data is really in your page HTML.

## Steps

### 1. Install the app on your store
Install from the App Store listing. MetaPilot creates your account on the way in, so there is no signup form and nothing to fill in. You land on the MetaPilot page inside your admin.

### 2. Let the first sync finish
MetaPilot reads your products, collections, pages, blogs and articles in the background. A small catalogue takes under a minute. Reload the page and the counts fill in.

### 3. Turn on schema injection
Click **Enable schema injection**. That deep-links to your theme editor with the MetaPilot Schema app embed already selected. Toggle it on and save. **This step is required** — nothing renders on your storefront until the embed is enabled.

### 4. Turn on answer blocks
Do the same for the MetaPilot Content embed. There are two embeds because one writes into your page head and the other into the body, and an embed gets only one target.

### 5. Check it in View Source
Open any product page and use **View Source**, not the DevTools inspector. Search for `application/ld+json`. None of this is built by JavaScript, so the raw HTML is where it lives.

### 6. Edit a product and watch it follow
Change a product title, wait about a minute, and view the source again. The schema has already caught up. Products and collections update within seconds of an edit; pages and articles are checked hourly.

> **Note:** MetaPilot reads what your theme already emits and fills only the gaps. If your theme covers products, MetaPilot leaves them alone rather than adding a second Product node — duplicate schema is a Rich Results error, so the skip is deliberate. Your app page counts those under **Skipped, your theme already covers these**.
